Pan Acoustics PB15-D loudspeaker
The Pan Acoustics PB15-D is a 90 centimetres high column loudspeaker and part of the Pan Beam series. This active loudspeaker combines DSP functions, digital amplification and a self-designed single-Beam Steering Technology. All this in a compact, elegant aluminium housing. The controllable sound beam of the PB15-D can be adjusted very accurately , so that the entire room is provided with a correct sound level. Thus a constant sound pressure, volume and good speech intelligibility are evenly distributed for perfect coverage and fantastic sound reproduction, even in areas with difficult acoustics.
Fully steerable
The PB15-D is equipped with fifteen 2.1”drivers and eight amplifiers, each providing 50 watts. A distance of 20 meters can be provided with sound. The coverage of the sound of this controllable loudspeaker can be controlled via the audio processor or the DSP. The horizontal angle can be set at 150° (at 3 kHz) or 90° (at 10 Hz), the vertical angle at 5° to 40°, which allows an adjustable focus distance from 1 to 20 meters. This way, the sound beam can be precisely adjusted so that the entire room has perfect sound quality.
Fully adjustable and adaptable
The PB15-D has two separate audio inputs with automatic priority switching. The loudspeaker is further equipped with three RJ-45 connectors. Using these, the loudspeaker can be integrated with other devices and systems, such as an evacuation system, via an RS-485 or Dante network. For control over the DSP, and for remote monitoring, the PB15-D can be connected to a computer. Pan Acoustics offers user-friendly software for Windows. With the help of this software, the horizontal opening angle, the volume, the delay (up to 370ms) and a 5-band parametric equalizer can be set. The loudspeaker comes in aluminium as a standard, with a powder-coated grille; other colours are possible on request.
Suitable for complex challenges
Pan Acoustics PB15-D is very suitable for temporary installations and as a permanent solution. Pan Acoustics supplies a wide range of mounting accessories for the loudspeaker for both types of installations. With the help of these mounting accessories, each loudspeaker can be aligned very accurately. This loudspeaker is ideal for high-quality voice applications and is therefore very suitable for live public announcements. It is also EN 50849 certified for integration into speech alarm systems. The loudspeaker is designed to deliver perfect sound quality, even in the most challenging and difficult acoustic environments and over long distances. The PB15-D is therefore ideal for use in, among others, the following applications: banks, shopping centres, sports facilities, theatres, museums, places of worship, train stations, airports, conference rooms, courtrooms, government buildings and events.

A number of Pan Beam series loudspeakers can be equipped with Pan Powerline Technology as an option. This is a technology for transmitting power, audio signal and a control signal line. The transmission takes place via a 2-wire system. Tau sells these models as the PB04-PPL, PB08-PPL, PB16C-PPL and PBS208-PPL. With almost all loudspeakers in the series it is also possible to add them to a Dante network. With this technology, a loudspeaker can easily be supplied with power, sound signal and possibly a control signal line over a single 2-wire system with Phoenix connection. This means that an existing 100 V, loudspeaker or microphone cable can be used for transferring signal and power, no extra cables have to be purchased and installed. These models are equipped with the addition -D at Tau, such as the PB248-D. There are also weather resistant models, for outdoor use. At Tau these models can be found with the addition -IP54 behind the type, such as the PB04-IP54.
