Soundsphere Q-12A White luidspreker
The Soundsphere Q-12A White is an omnidirectional loudspeaker and part of the Q series. This powerful hemispherical open ceiling loudspeaker offers fantastic sound quality, and is widely applicable.
Powerful quality
The Q-12A White offers a hemispherical coverage pattern which provides a wide-range, wide-coverage sound dispersion. In addition, the loudspeaker offers high sensitivity (94/97dB 1W/1m), high SPL capability (118/121dB 250W/1m) and it utilizes the exclusive Soundsphere Poly-exponential Incidence Reflector. All of this is great for clear, accurate, full-range voice announcements as well as enhanced high-fidelity music reproduction. Versatility and optional extra’s
Inside the Q-12A White there’s a 12-inch treated pulp fibre woofer and a 2.8-inch titanium compression driver, sharing a common magnetic circuit. The 250 Watts loudspeaker has a frequency response of 120 Hz to 13 kHz and can be used in 70- and 100 Volt installations. The loudspeaker includes four power tap selection leads. Tau also offers an optional accessory, the Soundsphere TX250 250-Watt Line Matching Transformer, with taps for 70- and 100-Volt systems. The driver is mounted in a spherical enclosure made of fiberglass with gelcoat finish that has a diameter of 260 millimetres. All the hardware is constructed of stainless or plated steel or aluminium and rust and corrosion resistant. Shield the loudspeaker from external influences completely with the optional Soundsphere SL large screen for protection against foreign objects and use the optional Soundsphere SWFL large screen with weather filter for extra protection against water. By applying these extras, the Q-12A White to be used in a wide variety of applications.
Many optional installation possibilities
For mounting, Tau offers various optional Soundsphere accessories. Single-point suspension can be arranged with the HKL three-element hanging kit. Using the BCL beam clamp, the loudspeaker can be mounted to a beam flange. Lastly, the MBL mounting bracket allows for flat mounting against a ceiling surface. All of these mounting options together make it possible for the loudspeaker to be used in various surroundings.
Suitable for demanding environments
Because the Q-12A White provides high-power, high-fidelity foreground music and voice reproduction, it is ideal for use in all situations where clear voice announcements and high-fidelity foreground music are required at high sound (pressure) levels. The loudspeaker is therefore very suitable for applications such as arenas, bars, factories, gymnasiums, ice rinks, churches, nightclubs, transportation terminals, public areas and swimming pools.
Black and white omnidirectional loudspeakers in various formats
As a standard, this loudspeaker comes in paintable textured white. In addition, any custom colours is available, on request. Rather have this loudspeaker in gloss black? That’s possible, Tau provides the Q-12A Black as well. Within the Q series, Soundsphere also offers three other hemispherical loudspeakers. As the smallest of the series, with a size of 6,5 inches, the Q-6 White has a wattage of 60 and a frequency response of 70 Hz – 20 kHz. The 100W Q-8 White measures eight inches and has a frequency response of 55 Hz - 17 kHz. The Q-12AWR White is the same size as the Q-12A White. Both are twelve inches big and both have a wattage of 250 and a frequency response of 60 Hz - 16 kHz. For outdoor use, the Q-12AWR White can be employed, as it is weather resistant. All of these loudspeakers are also available in black.
