Soundsphere Q-6 White loudspeaker
The Soundsphere Q-6 White is an omnidirectional loudspeaker and part of the Q series. This compact, hemispherical open ceiling loudspeaker is fully weatherproof and offers fantastic sound quality, when used indoors as well as outside.
Excellent quality
The Q-6 White offers a hemispherical coverage pattern which provides a wide-range, wide-coverage sound dispersion. This is great for clear, accurate, full-range voice announcements as well as enhanced high-fidelity music reproduction. In addition, the loudspeaker is fully weatherproof for year-round exposure to the elements, which is great news if you need outdoor loudspeakers that provide clear announcements and excellent sound quality.
Versatile and secure
Inside the Q-6 White there’s a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer and a 0.5-inch mylar dome tweeter, mounted coaxially. The 35 Watts loudspeaker has a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz and can be used in 25-, 50-, 70- and 100 Volt installations. The loudspeaker includes seven power tap selection leads. Tau also offers an optional accessory, the Soundsphere TX30 30 -Watt Line Matching Transformer, with taps for 25-, 50-, 70- and 100- Volt systems. An optional 30 Watts onboard amplifier (Model Q-6 Power2) makes a separate amplifier unnecessary in applications where only a single wide-dispersion speaker is required for coverage. The driver is mounted in a spherical enclosure made of structural foam polystyrene that has a diameter of 254 millimetres. The sturdy housing is constructed of inorganic materials that are impervious to environmental contaminants, like the weather, ozone, UV, chlorine and salt and all the hardware is rust and corrosion resistant. Shield the loudspeaker from external influences completely with the optional Soundsphere SS small screen for protection against foreign objects and use the optional Soundsphere SWFS small screen with weather filter for extra protection against water. By applying these extras, the Q-6 White can be used in a wide variety of applications.
Many optional installation possibilities

Single-point suspension can be arranged with the HK three-element hanging kit. For lower suspension, use the HKEXT 24” hanging kit extension in combination with the HK. Then there’s the DCB drop ceiling bracket for mounting the loudspeaker to suspended ceilings. Using the BC beam clamp the loudspeaker can be mounted to a beam flange. Lastly, the MBS mounting bracket allows for flat mounting against a ceiling surface. All of these mounting options together make it possible for the loudspeaker to be used in various surroundings.
Wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications
The Q-6 White is Soundsphere’s most compact, weatherproof omnidirectional loudspeaker. The loudspeaker offers full-range music and voice announcements possibilities for installations both inside and outdoors. It can very well be used for classrooms, health clubs, hotel lobbies, restaurants, retail stores, shopping centre common areas & food courts, sports bars and a wide variety of outdoor applications.
Black and white omnidirectional loudspeakers in various formats
As a standard, this loudspeaker comes in paintable textured white. In addition, any custom colours is available, on request. Rather have this loudspeaker in gloss black? That’s possible, Tau provides the Q-6 Black as well. Within the Q series, Soundsphere also offers three other hemispherical loudspeakers. The 100W Q-8 White measures eight inches and has a frequency response of 55 Hz – 17 kHz. The Q-12A White and Q-12AWR White are both twelve inches big and both have a wattage of 250 and a frequency response of 60 Hz - 16 kHz. For outdoor use, the Q-12AWR White can be employed, as it is weather resistant. All of these loudspeakers are also available in black.
