"Above the counter" Loop Kit
The Contacta IL-K325 is part of the Contacta's "above-the-counter" loop kit systems. As the name already says, these are designed to be used on a counter or desk surface. It provides an easy-to-use solution for people wearing hearing aid.An induction loop system is based on an ampfilier that converts speech or music, for example a microphone, into magnetic pulses. These magnetic pulses are then transmitted through an induction loop. In the case of the IL-K325 and IL-K305 the loop is placed on a counter or desk surface. The aeriel is combined with a sign that displays the recognition mark for people with a hearing problem. The hearing aid have a T-coil inside of them that can pick up these magnetic pulses and convert them back to sound.
Contacta IL-K325
The IL-K325 is used in particular at banks, city halls, airfields and, for example, information centres. It concerns situations where a conversation takes place at a counter or desk. In addition, it often involves locations where the speech intelligibility of the conversation needs to be guaranteed and/or where there is a lot of ambient noise present.The IL-K325 is a complete induction loop system for counters and consists of the following components:
- The Contacta HLD2 amplifier
- A halo microphone with noise cancelling
- The hearing loop aerial within the sign
- Power supply
- Fixings
The system has voice detection so it automatically switches on and off when a conversation starts or ends. In addition, the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) ensures that a constant signal strength is provided which contributes to an optimum hearing performance.
Operation and installation
The aerial is combined with the sign and is fixed to the counter or desk surface. Due to the recognition mark for people with a hearing problem it is very easy to spot the counters with induction loop. The HLD2 itself is easy to configure. The buttons on the front are 3 colour LEDs that indicate power, input and output diagnostic information.Optionally, the halo-standing microphone can be replaced by a boundary (mouse) microphone.
