"Under the counter" Loop Kit

The Contacta IL-K220 is part of the Contacta's "under-the-counter" loop kit systems. As the name already says, these are designed to be used under a counter or desk. It offers a discreet solution for people using hearing aid.An induction loop system is based on an ampfilier that converts speech or music, for example a microfoon, into magnetic pulses. These magnetic pulses are then transmitted through a induction loop. In the case of the IL-K220 and IL-K200 the loop is placed under a counter or desk. The hearing aid have a T-coil inside of them that can pick up these magnetic pulses and convert them back to sound.

Contacta IL-K220

The IL-K220 is used in particular at banks, city halls, airfields and, for example, information centres. It concerns situations where a conversation takes place at a counter or desk. In addition, it often involves locations where speech intelligibility of the conversation needs to be guaranteed and/or where there is a lot of ambient noise present.The IL-K220 is a complete induction loop system for counters and consists of the following components:

• The Contacta HLD2 amplifier
• A halo microphone with noise cancelling
• Hearing loop aerial
• Power supply
• Fixings

The system has voice detection so it automatically switches on and off when a conversation starts or ends. In addition, the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) ensures that a constant signal strength is provided which contributes to an optimum hearing performance.

Operation and installation

The IL-K220 can be discreetly put under the counter or a desk. The system has speech detection, which means that it does not have to be operated when someone with a hearing problem comes to the counter. The HLD2 itself is easy to configure. The buttons on the front are 3 colour LEDs that indicate power, input and output diagnostic information.The included aerial loop is flexible and can easily be properly secured under the counter or the desk. Optionally, the halo-standing microphone can be replaced by a boundary (mouse) microphone. This makes it the Contacta IL-K200 kit.
